Product Information
Name:Bis(2-methoxyethyl) Adipate
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Bis(2-methoxyethyl) adipate is a cationic polymer that has been used as a polylactate to synthesize polyvinyl alcohols. It is also used in the formation of cyclic hydrocarbons and can be used to produce polyvinylidene chloride, which is a non-ionic surfactant for detergent applications. The relative rates of ring-opening and reductive elimination are dependent on the temperature, with higher temperatures favoring the ring-opening process. Bis(2-methoxyethyl) adipate is biodegradable and can be postulated to have an activation energy of around 30 kcal/mol.
Bis(2-methoxyethyl) adipate has been shown to be phototoxic at high concentrations, with an activation energy of around 90 kcal/mol.
