Description:

Vinyl stearate is a fatty ester that can be used in the production of film-forming polymers. Vinyl stearate is a common ingredient in health care products, such as ointments and suppositories. Vinyl stearate has been shown to have good water permeability and viscosity, but poor hydrolytic stability. The presence of hydroxyl groups on the molecule allows for cationic polymerization reactions to occur. Further research into the polymerization process is required before this product can be used for medical purposes.
