Diphenyl methyl phosphate is a chemical substance that belongs to the class of glycol ethers. It is used as a solvent for resins, paints, and lacquers. Diphenyl methyl phosphate has a hydroxyl group in its molecular structure. The chemical property of diphenyl methyl phosphate is that it can be heated up to 200 degrees Celsius without decomposing. In the presence of hydrochloric acid, diphenyl methyl phosphate undergoes cationic polymerization reactions with metathesis reactions to form polymers. This product also has the ability to react with fatty acids and form acid complexes in analytical chemistry experiments when heated at 180 degrees Celsius. The solubility data for this product was found to be 2 g/L in water and 1 g/L in ethanol. In addition, this product is also known to have an affinity for response element-binding protein (REB).
