The ethyl decanoate monomer reacts with hydrogen fluoride in a preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method to produce ethyl caproate as a pure product. Ethyl caproate also has biochemical properties such as inhibition of protein synthesis and induction of apoptosis.
