Product Information
Name:n-Octylamine Hydrochloride
Brand:Biosynth
Description:n-Octylamine is an antimicrobial agent that can be used to inhibit the growth of bacteria. It has inhibitory properties that are based on its hydroxyl group and the reaction mechanism, which results in a change in the pH of the solution. n-Octylamine hydrochloride reacts with sodium carbonate and hydrochloric acid to produce a cationic surfactant, water vapor, and carboxylate. The carboxylate then reacts with p-hydroxybenzoic acid to form an inorganic acid. This reaction is reversible, so it can be stopped by adding methyl ethyl or magnesium salt.
