Sodium Dehydrocholate is a bile acid that is found in the liver cells. It has been shown to have a protective effect on the carotid artery and may also inhibit growth factor activity. Sodium Dehydrocholate has been shown to interact with sodium succinate, which can be used as an industrial preparation or for clinical studies. The molecular structure of this compound is similar to that of taurocholic acid, but it does not bind to lipoprotein lipase and has no effect on gamma-aminobutyric acid. Sodium Dehydrocholate has also been shown to be effective in treating congenital heart disease in rats.
