It has been shown to be effective against acute or chronic inflammation of the respiratory tract, including bronchitis and asthma. 1-Methyl-6-oxo-1,4,5,6-tetrahydropyridazine-3-carboxamide has also been shown to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis by acting on the enzyme cyclooxygenase.
