Product Information
Name:²-Nicotinic Acid Mononucleotide-d4
Brand:Biosynth
Description:²-Nicotinic Acid Mononucleotide-d4 (NAMN) is a nicotinamide riboside analog that has been shown to inhibit c. glabrata, a fungus that causes the disease onychomycosis. NAMN binds to enzymes that use dinucleotide phosphate and inhibits their activity. The inhibition of these enzymes prevents the production of nicotinamide, which is an important cofactor for the enzyme. This compound has been shown to be effective against C. glabrata, but not against other fungi such as Aspergillus niger or Candida albicans. NAMN's mechanism of action may be due to its ability to inhibit nicotinic acid mononucleotide (NAM), which is an enzyme involved in DNA synthesis and transcription.
