Description:

Haloxon is a coumarin derivative that inhibits the synthesis of acetylcholine, which is an important neurotransmitter. Haloxon prevents the formation of acetylcholine by binding to the enzyme acetyl cholinesterase. Haloxon has been shown to have activity against endoparasites and in vitro models of parasitic diseases. It has also been demonstrated to be effective against experimental models of nematode infections, including hookworm, whipworm, and ascaris. Haloxon also displays anthelmintic properties in cell culture and animal models.
