Description:1-Fluorooctane is a chemical compound that is a member of the diphenyl ether family. 1-Fluorooctane has been shown to inhibit choroidal neovascularization in rats by reducing dry weight, serum alanine, and growth factor levels. 1-Fluorooctane also inhibits the production of chloride in vitro. The mechanism of action is unknown, but may be due to its ability to act as an amino transferase inhibitor. This compound has been shown to be effective at inhibiting the activity of protein kinases such as glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β) and protein tyrosine kinases such as platelet-derived growth factor receptor β (PDGFRβ).
