Description:Heptaminol hydrochloride is a cytosolic calcium antagonist that has been used to treat a variety of infectious diseases. It is also used as an experimental drug in the treatment of cardiac, bowel, and papillary muscle disease. Heptaminol hydrochloride inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines by inhibiting protein synthesis in immune cells and suppressing the immune system. This drug has also been shown to be effective in treating autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis. Heptaminol hydrochloride binds to proteins on the surface of white blood cells, which leads to an increase in intracellular calcium levels and inhibition of cytokine production. The fluorescent derivative can be used for pharmacological studies and for clinical control analysis.
