Thonzonium bromide is a chemical compound that has been shown to have antimicrobial properties. It has been used in the treatment of cervical cancer and has shown cytotoxicity against various cancer cells, including those of the prostate, breast, and colon. Thonzonium bromide is also an effective antibacterial agent against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus. It inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the DNA gyrase enzyme, which prevents transcription and replication. This drug also has significant cytotoxicity against human osteoclasts.
