N-Methylacetanilide is a chemical substance that belongs to the class of organic compounds. It is an inhibitor of prostaglandin synthesis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme cyclooxygenase and block the conversion of arachidonic acid into prostaglandins. N-Methylacetanilide has been shown to have a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on the release of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in mice with inflammatory diseases. This drug also has a kinetic effect on hydrogen chloride, with an effective dose of 1.0 mg per kg body weight.
