Product Information
Name:Allyl Benzoate
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Allyl benzoate belongs to the group of reactive molecules and is a film-forming polymer. It is used as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of polymers that are primarily used in radiation protection, such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The reaction mechanism of allyl benzoate is similar to that of acetone, but it is more reactive because it has a hydroxyl group on its molecule. Allyl benzoate also reacts with formaldehyde to produce an allyl carbonate. This compound can be used in the synthesis of influenza virus vaccine. Allyl benzoate has been shown to have antiviral properties against influenza A virus, which may be due to its ability to inhibit viral protein synthesis by inhibiting ribosomal activity and preventing viral maturation. It also inhibits tumor growth through its ability to inhibit DNA polymerase.
