N'-Phenylcarbohydrazide is an anion that binds to the nitrogen atom in the ammonium ion. It can be hydrolysed by a feedback inhibition mechanism. This compound has been used as a precursor for various analogues, often those of carbonyl compounds. N'-Phenylcarbohydrazide is also used as a reagent in organic synthesis and has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth when used at high concentrations.
