Description:

Pentyl isothiocyanate is an organic compound that belongs to the group of divalent hydrocarbons. It has been shown to have a blood pressure lowering effect, which may be due to its ability to inhibit choline uptake by the cells and thus interfere with the synthesis of phospholipids. Pentyl isothiocyanate also has antioxidant properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation. This compound has been found in health care products such as mouthwashes and toothpaste. In addition, it was used as a corrosion inhibitor on metal surfaces.
