Cholesta-3,5-diene is an organic compound that belongs to the class of methyl ketones. It is a colorless liquid that is used in the production of fatty acids. Cholesta-3,5-diene has been shown to be effective in the treatment of diabetes and has been found to reduce levels of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c). This product also has anti-inflammatory properties and may be useful for treating diabetic neuropathy. The presence of cholesta-3,5-diene in catfish was studied using a spectrometer and it was found that this compound can have a significant effect on the flavor of these fish.
