The drug may also be useful as a conditioning agent before radiation therapy. 2-Methylaminopyrimidine is also an amide, which means it can react with biological samples such as proteins, nucleic acids, and lipids. It has been used as a biochemical probe to study the eye disorder retinal degeneration. This drug is also used to study inflammatory diseases and to produce tautomers by reacting with oxygen molecules.
