Product Information
- Phenol, 4-Amino-2,6-Bis(1,1-Dimethylethyl)-
4-Amino-2,6-di-tert-butylphenol (4A2DBP) is an oxidation product of 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol and is synthesized by the reaction of zinc powder with hydrochloric acid. The product is a white solid that has been used in the manufacture of polyolefin plastics. 4A2DBP has been shown to be reactive with dithionite and form a residue that contains carbonyl groups and salicylaldehyde. It decomposes at high temperatures to form chloride. The reactivity of 4A2DBP can be controlled by controlling the reaction time and flow rate during the synthesis process.
