Product Information

Name:
Tributylgermanium hydride
Synonyms:
  • Tri-n-butylgermane
  • Tributylgermane
  • Tributylgermanyl
Description:

Tributylgermanium hydride is a monomeric organometallic compound that is used in the synthesis of cationic polymers. It is an enzyme inhibitor that can be used to modulate protein interactions with DNA. Tributylgermanium hydride has been shown to inhibit the polymerization of epoxide-functionalized olefins and form cross-linked networks. This product also has anti-inflammatory properties due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. Tributylgermanium hydride has been shown to be capable of reducing or catalyzing the rate of chemical reactions, such as radical coupling, electrochemical methods, and silicon surface modification.
