Methyl 3-bromoimidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine-8-carboxylate is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of imidazopyridine. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in an experimental system using anhydrous sodium carbonate and methyl myristate as a solvent. Methyl 3-bromoimidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine-8-carboxylate inhibits the production of bacterial DNA by binding to the template strand and preventing DNA replication. This chemical also has anti-inflammatory properties that may be due to its ability to inhibit molecules that activate inflammation.
