Product Information
1-(4-Hydroxybenzoyl)glucose is a hydrolytic enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of p-coumaryl alcohol to acyltransferase and syringic acid. It is found in hl-60 cells, which are macrophages with a low expression of this enzyme. The hydroxybenzoic acid group is attached to the glucose molecule by an ester linkage. The enzyme has been shown to be involved in the degradation of food chemistry, such as p-hydroxybenzoic acid. This reaction mechanism has not been fully elucidated but it may be due to β-glucosidase activity or the hydrolysis of acyl transferases.
