Cefacetrile is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is used to treat urinary tract infections. It has been shown to be effective against penicillin-binding protein (PBP) in the urine and improves the glomerular filtration rate. Cefacetrile has also been found to be effective against infectious diseases such as Salmonella, Shigella, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Proteus mirabilis. However, cefacetrile does not work against Enterococcus faecalis, Streptococcus viridans, or Staphylococcus aureus. The therapeutic activity of this drug is due to its ability to inhibit bacterial growth by binding to PBP and disrupting bacterial protein synthesis. The structure of cefacetrile was determined using nitrogen atoms and an analytical method called preparative hplc. Cefacetri
