Clindamycin-2,3-diphosphate is a synthetic antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to ribosomes and preventing the formation of peptidyl-tRNA. It also inhibits the synthesis of proteins in the cell by binding to the 50S subunit of RNA polymerase. This agent has been shown to be effective against a variety of microorganisms, including viruses, bacteria, protozoa, and fungi. Clindamycin-2,3-diphosphate has been used in chemotherapy for cancer and as an antiparasitic agent.
