Product Information

Name:
Araneosol
Description:

Araneosol is a chemical compound found in the plant species Callicarpa arvensis and Arvensis vulgare. It is a methoxylated flavonoid, which means it has a hydroxyl group that is bonded to the C3 carbon. The chemical structure of Araneosol consists of two benzene rings, one of which contains an oxygen atom and the other containing two methoxy groups. The structure also contains a double bond between carbons 2 and 3, as well as one between carbons 3 and 4. Araneosol belongs to a class of compounds called flavonols glycosides, which are composed of sugar molecules attached to flavonols. Flavonols glycosides can be either monomers or dimers, with the latter being more common. Araneosol appears to have antioxidative properties because it has been shown to inhibit lipid peroxidation in vitro. This may be due to its ability to scavenge free
