2-{[(Benzyloxy)carbonyl]amino}-4-carbamoylbutanoic acid is a peptidomimetic that inhibits β-catenin signaling, leading to decreased cell proliferation. This compound has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and to be effective in preventing an outbreak of corynebacterium. 2-{[(Benzyloxy)carbonyl]amino}-4-carbamoylbutanoic acid was also shown to reduce the production of fatty acids and viral life. This compound is synthetic and can be made by microbial biotransformation or protein-protein interaction. It has been shown that this peptidomimetic binds with high affinity to coronaviruses, which may lead to new treatments for coronavirus infections.
