Product Information

Name:
N-2-Nitrophenylsulfenyl-L-leucine
Description:

N-2-Nitrophenylsulfenyl-L-leucine is a volatile compound with antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. It has been shown to have antibacterial activity against a variety of bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Bacillus subtilis. This compound also inhibits the growth of Aspergillus flavus by causing cell membrane leakage. N-2-Nitrophenylsulfenyl-L-leucine has been shown to be active against antifungal strains of Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. NPSLL can inhibit the production of the enzyme dl-leucine, which is required for fungal cell wall synthesis. NPSLL also inhibits the production of butanoic acid in Candida albicans cells, which is needed for virulence and fitness in these organisms.
