Description:

Piroctone related compound B is a complexed aluminum chlorohydrate that exists in the form of a colorless to light yellow powder. It is insoluble in water and soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers, ketones, esters, and chlorinated hydrocarbons. The product can be used as an absorbing agent for chlorine and other oxidizing agents. It also reacts with hydrochloric acid to form aluminum chloride. Piroctone related compound B can be used as a catalyst for reactions involving metal chlorides such as diketones.
