3-Benzyloxy-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde (3BOHB) is an aromatic compound that is used in the synthesis of aporphines. It can be synthesized by using a Wittig reaction with phenylmagnesium bromide and 3-benzyloxybenzoic acid. This product has been shown to have anticancer activity against breast cancer cells, as well as other cancer cells, in mice and rats. 3BOHB is also biosynthesized by clivia plants, and it is commercially available as a starting material for drug synthesis.
