Description:
6,11-Di-O-methyl erythromycin is a form of erythromycin that is produced by the methylation of erythromycin. It has antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria such as Streptococcus and Staphylococcus species. 6,11-Di-O-methyl erythromycin is also active against methicillin-resistant strains of S. aureus and some gram-negative bacteria. This drug is not absorbed orally and can be given intravenously or intramuscularly.
