- 3-Bromobenzaldehyde Diethylacetal
3-Bromobenzaldehyde Diethyl Acetal is a reversible, catalytic chemical reaction system that uses hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant and yields 3-bromoacetophenone. The catalytic mechanism of the reductively activated cross-coupling reaction is similar to the phosphine-catalyzed coupling of organometallic reagents with organic electrophiles. The chloride ion acts as a nucleophile in this process. The reactants are reduced by the catalyst to form products with a new carbon skeleton. This reaction is usually conducted in the presence of a phosphine reagent and an oxidant, such as chloride or peroxide, at elevated temperatures.
