Product Information
- Isoquinoline, 6-Iodo-
6-Iodoquinoline, or 6-iodoisoquinoline, is a natural plant product that has been shown to have anti-nematode activity. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of nematodes in cell culture and to inhibit the development of nematode larvae. 6-Iodoisoquinoline is an inhibitor of beta-glucosidase and alpha-glucosidase. This compound also inhibits the growth of bacteria by inhibiting synthesis of DNA, RNA, and protein. In addition, this compound has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of oligosaccharides and polysaccharides. 6-Iodoisoquinoline may be used as a feed additive for livestock such as swine and poultry, as well as for other animals such as horses and dogs. The molecule may be added to commercial foodstuffs or administered orally in tablet form.
