Description:
N-(6-Methoxybenzo[D]thiazol-2-yl)acetamide is a chiral compound that has an asymmetric, planar structure. It can be synthesized through the reaction of 2,6-dimethoxyphenylacetic acid with acetamide and adamantane in the presence of sodium hydroxide. N-(6-Methoxybenzo[D]thiazol-2-yl)acetamide can exist as a dimer or a monomer, depending on the conditions used to synthesize it. The geometry at C3 and C4 is planar and this is stabilised by hydrogen bonding between H1 and H2.
