Description:CY 208-243 is a selective dopamine D2 receptor agonist that has been shown to produce dose-dependent effects in animal models of Parkinson's disease. It is also an inhibitor of uptake of dopamine and cholinergic neurotransmitters. The drug binds to the agonist binding site on the dopamine D2 receptor, which inhibits the inhibitory effect on dopamine release and increases blood pressure. CY 208-243 has been tested in animals and found to have no effect on cognitive function or locomotor activity.
