Product Information

Name:
Galidesivir dihydrochloride
Synonyms:
  • (2S,3S,4R,5R)-2-(4-amino-5H-pyrrolo[3,2-d]pyrimidin-7-yl)-5-(hydroxymethyl)pyrrolidine-3,4-diol dihydrochloride
Description:

Galidesivir dihydrochloride is a synthetic, non-nucleoside antiviral drug that has shown to be effective against influenza A, B and C viruses. It is also active against other viruses such as herpes simplex virus, adenovirus, rotavirus and rhinovirus. Galidesivir dihydrochloride inhibits viral replication by inhibiting the synthesis of viral RNA in infected cells. This compound binds specifically to the viral RNA polymerase enzyme and prevents it from converting viral RNA into its complementary DNA form, thereby blocking the production of new virus particles.
