Product Information
Hypothemycin is a biocompatible polymer that has been shown to have cytotoxic properties in vitro. It has been used in the treatment of skin cancer, and it has been speculated that this drug may be useful for the treatment of other cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myocardial infarct. Hypothemycin inhibits cell factor activity by irreversibly inhibiting a key enzyme involved in signal transduction. This drug is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and therefore does not have significant pharmacokinetic properties. Hypothemycin also binds to stem cells and prevents their proliferation.
