Agatharesinol acetonide is a natural product that has been shown to have anticancer activity. It is the acetone extract of the leaves and heartwood of Agathis robusta, a tree native to Australia. The compound was tested against tumor cell lines in culture, as well as an animal model for human breast cancer. This extract inhibited the growth of these cells by inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division, while also demonstrating proteolytic activity. It was shown to be active against non-small-cell lung cancer cells and candida glabrata in vitro.
