Laidlomycin is an antimicrobial agent that belongs to the group of monoclonal antibodies. It is a natural product isolated from the bark of Quillaja saponaria and has been shown to have anti-infective properties. Laidlomycin has been shown by a number of in vitro tests to inhibit microbial growth and activity, including human pathogens such as Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Chlamydia pneumoniae, Helicobacter pylori, and Staphylococcus epidermidis. Laidlomycin also has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes involved in fatty acid synthesis and energy metabolism. Laidlomycin can be used as an antiseptic for topical application or as an injection for systemic treatment.
