Description

Maduramicin ammonium is an antimicrobial agent that has a high activity against Gram-positive bacteria. It binds to the mitochondrial membrane potential, thus inhibiting the electron transport chain and leading to cell death. Maduramicin ammonium has been shown to be effective in clinical pathology and infectious diseases. The sample preparation for this drug includes anhydrous sodium sulfate, which is used as a drying agent. Matrix effects are also observed when analyzing this compound using chromatography, which can lead to inaccurate results and control analysis should be performed in order to correct for these effects. Maduramicin ammonium inhibits protein synthesis by binding to complex enzymes such as chitosan polymerase and control analysis is required due to the presence of salinomycin sodium in the sample preparation.
