This compound has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of ion channels such as NMDA and AMPA receptors. N-[2-(5-Chloro-2,6-dimethoxybenzimidazol-1-yl)ethyl]acetamide has also been shown to interact with antibodies in cell biology experiments and can be used as a pharmacological probe in protein interactions.
