The 1H NMR spectrum of the dihydrate form shows a single line at 3.3 ppm, while the chloride form exhibits two lines at 3.3 ppm and 4.5 ppm. It can also be used as a ligand in lanthanide complexes, as well as transition metal complexes with an environment of elemental chlorine or bromine.
