• Description: Gepotidacin is a water-soluble and biocompatible polymer. It is used as an antimicrobial agent in wastewater treatment. Gepotidacin binds to the bacterial DNA gyrase and prevents the unwinding of the double helix, inhibiting DNA replication. Gepotidacin has been shown to inhibit the growth of wild-type strains of bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, but not resistant mutants. In vitro studies have shown that gepotidacin inhibits Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling through inhibition of myeloid differentiation primary response protein-9 (MMP-9) activity.
