Acetoxyscirpenol is a natural product that is isolated from the fungus Paecilomyces. It has been shown to lower blood glucose levels in diabetic mice, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the uptake of glucose by cells and stimulate insulin release. Acetoxyscirpenol also has been found to have a dose-dependent effect on lowering glucose levels in mice. This compound is fluorescent and can be used for microscopy studies.
