Product Information
- N-Hydroxy-2-[(1-phenylcyclopropyl)amino]-5-pyrimidinecarboxamide
ACY-738 is a small molecule that inhibits HDACs, which are enzymes that remove acetyl groups from proteins. These enzymes are often overexpressed in cancer cells and may be involved in the development of autoimmune diseases. ACY-738 has been shown to have synergistic effects with lymphocytic leukemia cells, which may be due to its ability to modulate the immune system. This drug also has immunomodulatory effects, including inhibition of T-cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis. ACY-738 can also reduce synaptic dysfunction and lysine residues by inhibiting the acetylation of histones and protein kinases. Acetylation is a process that affects gene expression by modifying chromatin structure. Acy-738 binds to serotonin reuptake transporters, preventing the reuptake of serotonin into presynaptic neurons, while also inhibiting serotonin synthesis.
