Product Information
AL 3152 is a galactose-binding lectin that binds to the carbohydrate moiety of galactose and galactosamine. It is used as a marker for the detection of inflammatory cells in tissues. The pharmacokinetics of AL 3152 in Sprague Dawley rats have been studied using biochemical and histological methods. The elimination phase was found to be rapid, with only about one third of the drug being eliminated in urine and about two thirds being eliminated in bile.
The pharmacokinetic profiles of AL 3152 showed that it has a wide range of elimination phases, from 8 hours to 2 days, which is due to its stereoselective metabolism by dehydrogenases. AL 3152 also has an enantiomeric ratio that ranges from 98% to 99%. This means that AL 3152 can be used as a probe for the presence of enantiomers in biological samples or tissues.
