This molecule also stimulates the inflammatory process by inducing pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-1β. 3,5-Dimethoxy-4-methylbenzaldehyde has been found to inhibit the growth of various bacteria, including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolates, when used at concentrations of 0.001%.
