Cedrelone is a drug that is used to treat skin cancer and other cancers. Cedrelone acts by inhibiting the synthesis of angiogenic factors, which are substances that promote the growth of new blood vessels. Cedrelone also has potent cytotoxic effects on tumor cells and increases the metabolic rate in cancer cells, as well as being an effective chemotherapeutic agent. It is also used for autoimmune diseases. Cedrelone binds to proteins in the mitochondrial membrane and inhibits its function, leading to cell death. Cedrelone can be administered orally or intravenously, with oral administration requiring higher doses than intravenous administration.
