Sodium phosphomolybdate hydrate is an inorganic compound that is used as a corrosion inhibitor and is also used as a precursor to other compounds. It has been shown to be able to inhibit the binding of synthetic cannabinoids with the CB1 receptor, thereby decreasing its activity. Sodium phosphomolybdate hydrate is synthesized by the reaction of sodium nitrate and molybdic acid in water, followed by hydrolysis. The process starts with a cycloaddition reaction between an aromatic hydrocarbon and a hydrocarbon group, which leads to the formation of a ring-opening product. This product reacts with phosphomolybdic acid to form a phosphate salt, which can then react with sodium nitrate to form sodium phosphomolybdate hydrate.
