Aspirin Impurity F is a by-product of the acetylation reaction that occurs when aspirin is synthesized. It is also a by-product of hydrochloric acid and anhydrous sodium reacting with solanum tuberosum, which is the plant from which aspirin is extracted. Aspirin Impurity F can cause allergic reactions in some people who are sensitive to aspirin or acetylsalicylic acid.
