Methyltriphenylarsonium Iodide is a phenoxy, benzyl ester of copper. It is a solid catalyst that has been used in the synthesis of sulfonic acids, acyl halides and other classes of organic compounds. Methyltriphenylarsonium Iodide has also been used as an antibacterial agent. The compound can be synthesized by reacting chloride with pyridinium and acyl halides in the presence of an organic solvent and radiation. It is a molecule with no charge.
